CON ED -
Notification issued 12/19/11 at 8:40AM Today between 8:00AM to 4:00PM. CON ED will conduct aerial inspections of overhead power lines citywide using a helicopter. This helicopter is blue and white with silver stripes, tail number 402TD.

DEP - SEWER INSTALLATION
DEP major installation sewer on 41st & 42nd Streets on 13 Avenue
Namow Inc. has 3 permits from DOT on this location valid to 11.18.11.
The contractor has permits: for sewer installation, excavator and backhoe, they can work only from 9AM to 4PM M-F and during Saturday and Sunday when all businesses are closed.
We do not close this street for traffic, they can occupy 12 foot width of roadway during working hours and fully open the roadway after working hours.

FEMA announced that individuals and businesses in BK, The BX, QN, and SI who experienced damage due to Hurricane Irene are now eligible for disaster assistance (temporary housing assistance, housing repair, low interest loans, etc.).

RYDER LIBRARY SERVICE UPGRADE
Due to renovations Ryder library will close between NOVEMBER 5 and DECEMBER 11, 2011 to complete customer service enhancements at the branch.
The last day of service is FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 4.

DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION - MILLING/PAVING
On September 14, 2011, DOT will be working on Fort Hamilton Pkwy. between New Utrecht & 47th Street. Milling will begin at 10:00am (Shouldn't take more than 2 hours)
DOT will start paving between 7:00pm - 8:00pm
Please cooperate with the DOT no parking signs at these locations.

September 17-19, November 12-14 & November 19-20, 2011 - MTA - F & G LINES
MTA - NYC TRRANSIT SCHEDULED ALTERNATIVE SERVICE PLANS FOR F & G LINES FOR THREE WEEKENDS IN 2011.
Due to ongoing work along the Culver line in Brooklyn. This work includes the rehabilitation of the Culver Viaduct, the station rehabilitation of the Smith-9th Street Station and the Church Avenue Interlocking Project. MTA will be performing signal maintenance work along the southern portion of the diversion area (from Church Avenue to 18th Avenue)
MTA will be replacing F & G service with shuttle buses which will operate from Jay Street to 18th Avenue.
Hours of operation for the shuttle buses for these weekends will be 12:01AM Saturday through 5:00AM Monday.
You can receive more detailed information regarding these alternate services by reading service posters which will be posted at each affected station. MTA-NYC Transit personnel will be at each station during this weekends and by accessing the MTA website at www.mta.info

NEW LAW EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 2010
FYI...Below please find the LOCAL LAW 75 link concerning Security Gates on Commercial Properties.
The law is self-explanatory.
Please note the law takes effect on JULY 1st, 2011 FOR NEW OR REPLACEMENT GATES WITH FULL COMPLIANCE FOR EXISTING GATES BY 2026.
By outlawing solid gates a canvas for graffiti will be eliminated. Also, it's illegal for anyone to sell, or offer to sell, an aerosol spray paint can, broad tipped indelible marker or etching acid to any person under twenty-one years of age. Those legally purchasing etching acid must provide identification to merchants who are required to keep a log of these transactions. In addition, business and residential buildings of over 5 units are now required to remove graffiti from their property.
